Canmore Brewing Company's founders grew up on the east coast, near the water, they learned how to enjoy the outdoors, have fun, build stuff, and do things the right way.

The ocean was their playground. And they learned how to share with family, friends, and strangers too. This is where they learned respect. The mountains, rivers and lakes of the west are our playgrounds now; go out and enjoy them. Share the times and stories with friends, family and strangers too. Respect everyone and everything and do it over a beer!

Fernie Brewing Co. has committed to donating their spent grain to local ranchers - as a highly nutritious and delicious protein source for cattle, pigs, and chickens.  This was one of the first sustainability practices implemented at Fernie Brewing Co. as spent grains are the largest waste product in the brewing process, making up approximately 85% of total brewery waste, they knew they had to put it to good use.

In January 2019, to further improve this program, they installed a Spent Grain Silo to hold larger volumes of spent grain. This allows for improved storage, easier access and year-round pick-ups – with none of it ending up in the landfill.

At Fernie Brewing Co. they recognize the importance of supporting local and they believe in sourcing ingredients and supplies locally whenever they can. They buy the majority of their Brewing Equipment from BC Manufacturers. Their barley malt, wheat, oats and rye are grown in Western Canada. Plus, even their fantastic FBC merchandise is hand-printed locally, in Fernie.

These actions not only lower greenhouse gas emissions by reducing shipping, but also support the local economy and Canadian Small Businesses.

Annex Ale Brewing Annex Ale Project is a brewery and tap room located in the Manchester neighbourhood of Calgary and was founded by co-owners Andrew Bullied and Erica O’Gorman in 2015.

The proximity of the brewery to Alberta barley and mountain-fed water allows the brewing team to use some of the best natural resources, constantly exploring the relationship between malt, water and hops. In the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge that we brew and live on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, the Métis Nation (Region 3), and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.

Annex produces four year-round beers and a variety of experimental and seasonal beers. With the recent expansion Annex has added a mixed fermentation program using wild yeast, lactic acid and other funky microbes. In addition to the award-winning beers, Annex produces three sodas using whole, natural ingredients.

Annex Ale Project takes a proactive approach to being leaders in the craft brewing community by constantly striving to make tiny changes for the betterment of the people we serve. We are committed to frequent experimentation with product, and we strive for fearless ambition when it comes to bringing new experiences to our guests.

Nelson Brewing Since 1991, Nelson Brewing Company has been an independently owned, award – winning craft brewery focused on quality, excellence, and bringing people

together.

They take pride in crafting beer that has become an integral part of the

Kootenay lifestyle. Nelson Brewing has Organic certification, to them this is a guarantee that their beer and its ingredients were produced without the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or genetic engineering.

Their processes, cleaning and sanitation regimes must also adhere to a strict set of organic principles and be approved by their organic certification body. Being organic also signifies a commitment to environmental sustainability.

Their goal is to eventually source all of our ingredients as locally as possible. Most of their barley is malted in BC, and they are working with local farmers toward the planting of certified organic hops. Nelson Brewing Co's spent materials are recycled by local farmers as feed and compost.

The Establishment Brewing Company started with a sign and a bunch of friends. Part house, part brew lab, The Establishment was the place where at leasy six of their friends gathered, slept, brewed, grew a garden, and lived. Brandon found The Establishment sign on a snowboarding road trip and propped it up in the window. Everyone agreed it suited the place and the name stuck.

The flood of 2013 did its worst on this home. Mike was living in the basement at the time and lost everything he owned. For days they pulled debris and mud out of that basement, but the strength of friendships and good will in the community brought The Establishment back to its feet. T

he unforeseen benefit of all this destruction, was that a completely gutted basement was the perfect space to set up a new home-brew system complete with yeast lab. The brewing and experimentation rose to new levels, and soon the medals from various home-brew comps were rolling in.

The original Establishment has long since been demolished, but it’s memory lives on in our taproom where friends (old and new) are always welcome and great beer is always on tap.

Wildlife Distillery Co-Founders, Matt and Keith believe that everyone has an ideal life that they would like to one day lead. Committing yourself to a process that will eventually lead to this dream can be an overwhelming notion. Which relationships to nurture and which to abandon; which skills to polish and which to let rust; how to prioritize day-to-day tasks to move forward towards this vision can be a difficult path.

There is no right way to get there, and no guarantee that you ever will; only a certainty that improving a little bit each day will move you closer.

At Wild Life Distillery (WLD), they have made this approach to lifestyle and the craft distilling industry their personal commitment. By constant pursuit of personal betterment, they are on a path of continuous learning and growth in their industry.

Extreme attention to detail is a result of this mentality, and they demonstrate this through all of our processes at the distillery. They are passionate about what they do, and look forward to sharing this passion with you.
